Ive been using it whilst it has been in beta for a while (a bit dangerous I know but I like life on the edge) and its nice, a great upgrade for the last version, not a whole lot different but things do seem smoother.

Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft is out now!
Friday, October 27th, 2006(LTS) Ubuntu 6.06
Sunday, June 4th, 2006Just upgraded to the latest version of Ubuntu and Im impressed. Teh upgrade from 5 to 6 went very smoothly indeed, no issues an the whole process took about two hours.
The new vrsion sems a little quicker, some bugs hav be ironed out and the default icons are much cleaner. The brown theme is still not to my liking but this is easily changed with th Artwok manager in the system options and clearlooks is a great theme.
Since my linux box is a bog standard AMD athlon processor with a nivida motherboard that drives everything else hardware want a problem either.
Only problem I found with the whole thing is that AmaroK is not installed by default but since it is a KDE app this is forgivable!
Ive been impressed with Ubuntu for a long time now and when I get my new macbook I’m gonna ditch Windows altogether(well almost, I am going to install Windows into the Macbook and virtually use it simply for IE 6)
Paint dot net on Mono
Wednesday, May 24th, 2006For some reason I cannot get on with the Gimp. Its layout is too dissimilar to Photoshop even with Gimpshop it is still a bit odd.
But Paint dot net is a nice piece of windows programming that would be great to get on Linux and the work to get it working on mono is a good step forward.
