Looks like anyone making that tough decision as to which next generation films they need to watch better keep an eye on the porno industry, even if they don’t like to perform the five knuckle shuffle.   Since a large percentage of all DVDs and Videos were XXXX rated this means that what the industry chooses as their format generally rules and as Sony have banned porn on their blu ray disk format, just like they did with betamax the future looks distinctly HD-DVD. 

To most of the world this makes no difference, since most of the world generally cannot see the difference between DVD and HD anyway but in a couple of years HD-DVD players will be the one in control so save your £400 on the latest gizmo now as it could be money badly spent. Get an iPhone instead that will work just as badly in the UK as any Blue ray drive you may purchase.

It is difficult to buy stuff for presents anyway, but most people are pretty easy, perfume, smelly soaps, lighters (don’t even ask) and I’m pretty much done.  However how do i buy a gift for my brother, hes a techy guy who earns enough to buy whatever he wants so the gift needs to be something odd, or at least different and so i decided to get him the neuros open source media center so that his old hacked up X-Box can finally get the boot.

But there are a lot of other ideas here

We took an office excursion to see Rancid at the Brighton Dome last night, the show was everything it could have been.  They played fantastically and surprisingly a lot of the tunes were from their early albums which was great to see.  Some obviously took their camera fone along and the first video from the night can be found at you tube.

Check out this video of the queue for the Nintendo Wii at T3 on youtube, mad how many people are willing to wait, this may well be the great new innovation the games market need. I’m undecided personally until i play one. It can go either way, either be great fun and entertaining or just silly. Playing among friends it can’t really not be a good laugh!
