Adobe has jumped on the AJAX bandwagon with a new framework. Still an early beta but well worth playing around with.

AJAX

Oh Dear, nothing changes much.  Four days in and already having trouble.  Mind you its only the 2nd beta from the largest company on the planet.

Windows

Apparantly Microsoft has developed a new image compression format that allows up to 24:1 compression with clearly better results than JPEG does today.  Called Windows Media Photo this will be the standard format ont he new Vista OS (when it eventually gets finished) But as mentioned in the following article licensing could kill the format before it even starts and with JPEG 2000 looking fantastic already this seems to me to be another step  in the wrong direction fro Microsoft.

Windows

For some reason I cannot get on with the Gimp.  Its layout is too dissimilar to Photoshop even with Gimpshop it is still a bit odd.

But Paint dot net is a nice piece of windows programming that would be great to get on Linux and the work to get it working on mono is a good step forward.

Ubuntu

Shame no one really uses eDonkey anymore if they know what they are doing.  But anyway…
