Adobe has jumped on the AJAX bandwagon with a new framework. Still an early beta but well worth playing around with.

Microsoft shwos off JPEG beater
Thursday, May 25th, 2006Apparantly Microsoft has developed a new image compression format that allows up to 24:1 compression with clearly better results than JPEG does today. Called Windows Media Photo this will be the standard format ont he new Vista OS (when it eventually gets finished) But as mentioned in the following article licensing could kill the format before it even starts and with JPEG 2000 looking fantastic already this seems to me to be another step in the wrong direction fro Microsoft.
Paint dot net on Mono
Wednesday, May 24th, 2006For some reason I cannot get on with the Gimp. Its layout is too dissimilar to Photoshop even with Gimpshop it is still a bit odd.
But Paint dot net is a nice piece of windows programming that would be great to get on Linux and the work to get it working on mono is a good step forward.
